Tri County Tournament begins January 9th. Pott County Tournament begins January 16th.
Little League sign ups are January 13th and January 27th from 6-7:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium for 14 and under softball, baseball, and Tball. Registration fee is $30 per player. Parent must be present. Bring the player's birth certificate.
Not to soon to start thinking about State Testing. The 5th and 8th grade writing tests will be in February according to Mrs. Magby. CRT's and EOI's will follow in April.
Asher PS received the 21st Century Grant which allowed us to begin a free afterschool program for all students. Our program is called LEADS which stands for Leading, Encouraging Asher's Dynamic Students. Students participate in cross curricular learning activities that promote higher order thinking, cooperative learning, and problem solving. We've also been known to Cha Cha or do the Limbo. Learning is FUN!! The afterschool program will run into summer through June 30th. More information to follow. Check out our web page.
Asher Elementary Homecoming is February 21st.
Breakfast and lunch prices are as follows: Breakfast is .25 and lunch is .40 for reduced. Breakfast is .75 for full price. Lunch is $1.50 for HS and $1.25 for Elementary for full price students. Please help us by paying your bills regularly.
Last day of school will be May 18th. Graduation is May 12th for HS and 8th grade.
Current Conditions:The Philosophy of Asher School is based upon the following general principles:
1. The main purpose of this school is to help the student develop physically, morally, emotionally, and mentally to his or her fullest extent, limited only by their interest and ability.
2. Every student should be given assistance in finding out his aptitudes, interests, and abilities so he or she may plan for the future.
3. The actions of the students and all school personnel should be directed toward developing wholesome human relations in the school and community.
4. It is the duty of the school to help train each student to become a good citizen of the school and the community.
5. Asher School will comply with Title IX concerning sex discrimination.
Asher Public Schools will provide an educational program that will give each student the opportunity to graduate from high school with the knowledge to effectively read, think and communicate as productive citizens in a changing global society.
